Labor In Prayer, Not Worry
Reading Of The Day
Read "Day 2" in The 21 Day Worry Free Fast then continue below.
Exercise Of The Day:
1. Write down a time when God came through for you in the past. Thank Him again for it. Sit there and meditate and allow The Lord to bring it to your memory. You may write out one thing or many times and ways He’s answered prayers, rescued you, healed your body, helped in a relationship, or given direction.
2. Read Philippians 4:6-8 (Below) in the Amplified – 2 times quietly, 1 time aloud, meditate on it and listen to what the Holy Spirit highlights to you. (Write in your journal)
Philippians 4:6-8 (Amplified Version)
6 Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. 7 And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours].
8 Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable andworthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart].
3. Ask God to show you where you have been in doubt, fear, control or unbelief. (Record in journal) Just communicate with Him. Pray: “Lord is there some way that I have been in doubt, fear, control or unbelief?” Now pause and listen. Write the response you hear in your heart.
4. Now this step may come as a SHOCK to you, but it is Biblical. REPENT for going your own way, for choosing to have worry instead of trusting God. We all have needs, BUT we are to take them to God in prayer, we are not instructed by God’s Word to worry ourselves to the point of experiencing a lack of peace or a bombardment of thoughts which lead to endless scenarios that run through our minds, ultimately causing depression or an even illness. Consider repenting and say this simple prayer, “Lord, I ask you to forgive me for not trusting in You and Your Word. I want to trust You from this day forward. I chose to align my heart with the scriptures, which encourages me to not worry or be anxious. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”
